Cougaar Software, Inc. (CSI), an innovative technology company in the Washington D.C. area specializing in AI and distributed intelligent agent solutions, is pleased to announce it has been awarded a 6-month Phase 1 SBIR with the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA).
As supply chains are stressed and grow ever more complex, DLA is challenged to ensure it can support its customers. Improving performance through optimization, increased accuracy, and real-time visibility is an ongoing and evolutionary effort. The integration of AI/ML, automation, robotics, and the Internet of Things (IoT) in this effort offers excellent potential, but not without cost, risk, and potential secondary effects; therefore, leveraging successful prototypes mitigates that risk.
Cougaar Software Inc. (CSI), through this project, is assisting DLA in evaluating the application of advanced technologies, individually and in combination, to address specific challenges. By integrating technology and lessons learned from previous DoD logistics research and development efforts. CSI will explore the possibility of improving DLA warehousing and distribution operations through the integration of AI/ML, automation, robotics, and IOT.
CSI leverages advanced AI and automation concepts as well as multi-agent systems to provide next-generation planning, decision support, and optimization systems for military and commercial customers. These solutions are built on CSI’s state-of-the-art AI platform, called ActiveEdge®, a distributed intelligent cognitive agent development framework based on the DARPA Cognitive Agent Architecture (Cougaar) technology. CSI’s technology enables users to understand complex situations and provides intelligent, automated deep reasoning over massive amounts of data to make better decisions, quicker, and with higher confidence.
