Sense & Respond Logistics:
Study High-Level Goals

The underlying goal of this roadmap is to further support DoD logistics in its goal to better support the Warfighter. In particular, a Roadmap is designed to support logistics practitioners who are creating capabilities in support of a S&RL approach. Specifically, this report has goals to:

• Map out the capabilities and technologies of a DoD-wide S&RL solution to use as a tool in the guidance and governance of DoD and Service portfolios.

• Facilitate informed decision-making through linkage of capabilities to technologies to maturity milestones.

• Seek out and synthesize input from both government and industry

• Identify key maturity milestones as well as potential gaps to achieve the envisioned capabilities for S&RL

• Recommend some partial capabilities that could be fielded in the near term.

• Recommend longer-term investments to accelerate advanced S&RL capabilities.

• Create a living document to be refreshed periodically to reflect current concepts, technologies and program initiatives.

• Enable faster development and assessment of technology solutions to support the Warfighter needs.

• Reduce redundancy throughout the DoD on S&RL and other related IT projects.

• Develop common language for S&RL.
