Software Engineer I

Position: Software Engineer I
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or related academic field
Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen
Qualifications: 2 or more years of General IT experience. Must know Java 8 or higher. Experience in developing web based, Java and J2EE solutions in a UNIX/Linux or Windows environment and in using SQL, OWL, SOAP, and similar languages. Experience developing software in a structured engineering environment.
Successful candidates will work independently and as a member of a team involved in the research, design, development and implementation of agent‐based and other software solutions. Must be competent to work with minimal supervision supporting activities associated with developing complex business solutions using advanced technologies.
Desired Skills:
- Proficient in Java 8 or higher
- Strong problem solving skills
- Strong written and oral communication skills
- Experience with all levels of the software development lifecycle
- Experience working in a small team environment
Additional Desired Experience:
- Ability to effectively multitask and contribute to multiple projects simultaneously
- Experience with one or more modern development IDEs such as Eclipse or IntelliJ
- Experience with one or more build tools such as Jenkins or Hudson and Ant, Maven, or Gradle
- Experience with agile project management software such as Jira
- Knowledge of RESTful service architectures, Javascript frameworks such as JQuery or Node.js
Salary Range: Commensurate with experience
Travel: Some occasional travel may be required.
